Alex Fraser Bridge re-opens in both directions

The Alex FraserBridge has reopened in both directions, with just the right-hand southbound lane remaining closed, according to the province.

Crews previously closed the bridge in both directions for about three hours on Monday afternoon because of the increased chance that snow or ice on the bridge's cables could fall into the travelled lanes.

The bridge was also temporarily closed over the weekendaftersnow and ice fell from the cables.

On Dec. 5, several people reported smashed windows from falling snow and ice while driving over theAlexFraserand Port Mann bridges.
