Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will make his Broadway musical debut next spring in a revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

The 20-year-old actor, who became an international star as the boy wizard in the Harry Potter movies, first appeared on Broadway in 2008 in the Peter Shaffer's drama Equus, following a run in London's West End.

In How to Succeed in Business, he'll take the central part of an opportunistic young man who rises from the mailroom to the top of the corporate ladder.

The musical will be directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford, nowstaging the Broadway revival of Promises, Promises, the Broadway website Playbill.com reportedThursday.

It added that Radcliffe took part in a reading with Ashford in New York last December.

How to Succeed in Business, with a score by Frank Loesser that includes the standard I Believe in You, opened on Broadway in 1961 with Robert Morse in the lead role. It ran for 1,417 performances and won seven Tonys.

The show won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1962, one of only six musicals to have received the award.

Morse reprised hisBroadway role in the1967 film version. Matthew Broderick starred in the most recent Broadway revival in 1995.

Radcliffe is currently filming the second part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final instalment in the blockbuster series.
