The Grand Budapest Hotel returns movie audiences to the vivid and idiosyncratic world of filmmaker Wes Anderson.

Featuring a star-studded cast, the film is filled with intricate, interlocking tales that ultimately centre on a rich patron and her lover a dedicated and preening concierge as well as a missing, priceless painting.

Andersons classic mix of cartoon and consequence, of wit and melancholy, gives weight to this well-paced, candy-coloured confection, says CBCs Eli Glasner.
