Photographer Steve Axford Documents The Beauty of Fungi

I just started photographing them because they were pretty. Every time I come out to the forest, I learn something new.

Australian Steve Axford is a nature photographer with a passion for fungi. "I just started photographing them because they were pretty and I found there was a never-ending array of different types and sizes and it gradually dawned on me that this was a major component of life."

His work has been featured in magazines and books all over the world and his time-lapses are in BBC's Planet Earth 2, and of course, The Nature of Things documentary, The Kingdom, How Fungi Made Our World. He takes us on a walk through the woods near his home.
