London, Ont., will host the 2019 Juno Awards

Get ready, music fans in London, Ont. The Juno Awards are coming your way in 2019.

"This city has seen incredible growth with its music scene and as such, is the perfect platform to celebrate Canadian talent," said Allan Reid, president and CEO of CARAS, the Juno Awards and MusiCounts, via press release.

The 2019 Juno Week celebrations will kick off March 11, 2019, culminating in the 48th annual Juno Awards, to be broadcast live on CBC from Budweiser Gardens on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

This will be the first time that London will host the Juno Awards.

"The JunoAwards is London's opportunity to bring artists and music fans to our great city to showcase our hospitality and our growing music scene and we could not be happier to be the 2019 host city."

London has a rich musical history. Not only is it the birthplace of bandleader Guy Lombardo and country music artist Tommy Hunter, but it's also the city where Johnny Cash proposed to June Carter. The Junos named its Jack Richardson Producer of the Year Awardafter the famedLondon, Ont., music producer.

The annual Juno Awardstravelto a different Canadian city each year. They've been hosted by St. John's, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, Saskatoon, Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Regina and Hamilton.
