Tom Harrington was appointed host of THE WORLD THIS HOUR on CBC Radio One in 2015 after a five year run as co-host of MARKETPLACE, CBC Television's award-winning investigative consumer program. He is also currently a host on YOUR WORLD TONIGHT. 

Spanning more than four decades at CBC, Tom Harrington's versatility has led to a wide ranging career in sports and news, hosting "Sports Journal" for seven seasons on CBC Newsworld and covering eight Olympic Games. He's also been a guest host on CBC Radio's THE WORLD AT SIX, THE CURRENT and AS IT HAPPENS as well as being an anchor on CBC News Network.

Harrington earned a Bachelor of Arts in history at Memorial University in his hometown of St. John's and has a Masters of Arts in journalism from Western University. He began his career at CBC Calgary in 1981 before moving on to Montreal and finally Toronto. He is an eight-time Gemini Award nominee.
