Stephanie Skenderis

Stephanie Skenderis is the weekend host of Your World Tonight, as well as a CBC News contributor on various programs.

Skenderis returned to CBC News after nearly four years in Melbourne, Australia, where she worked as Chief of Staff on the national current affairs television program The Project, as well as a freelance reporter covering stories including the 2022 federal election, the 2019-2020 bushfire emergency, and the Christchurch mosque attacks.

Prior to Australia, Skenderis spent nearly a decade working for the CBC both on-air and behind the scenes. She started in CBCs Factual Entertainment department in 2011, before moving to CBC News Network, where she was a producer, senior writer, and breaking news reporter. Known for her versatility, Skenderis has worked as a reporter in Regina, Halifax, Saint John, Moncton, and in her hometown of Toronto, covering stories on every topic including politics, climate, sports, business, and the arts.

Her career started in weekend radio at CJOY/Magic 106.1 in Guelph, Ontario. She returned to radio in 2022 as host of The World This Weekend, before launching the podcast Your World Tonight.

Skenderis studied broadcast journalism at Humber College, and also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English, drama and political science from the University of Toronto.
