Nancy Carlson

Nancy Carlson is the host of NEWS AT 6, CBC Edmontons flagship television program.

Nancy knows what it means to be an Edmontonian. She grew up in the city and has many fond memories of exploring different neighbourhoods with her family and friends.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from the University of Alberta, Nancy moved to pursue her passion for journalism. Her move brought her to the University of Regina where she realized that broadcasting was the best medium for her. She went on to graduate with honours, holding her first internship at CBC Manitoba, in Winnipeg.

Her first job as a journalist was in Red Deer where she executed a series on the history and future of Hobbema, now known as Maskwacis, and spent time producing and hosting a half-hour lifestyle show. Nancy then returned to Regina and Winnipeg, before coming home to Edmonton.

Edmonton will always be home for Nancy. She enjoys exploring new corners of the city and sharing stories with Edmontonians. You can also find Nancy baking cookies, exploring the river valley with her dogs, or scoping out a coffee shop. When you check out her social media accounts youll also get your fill of photos of her cat, Oliver.
