Join Meghan Roberts as the host of CBC NEWS: NORTHBEAT weekdays, 6 p.m. MT. From news and special series, to weather and entertainment, it's your guide to life in the Yukon, NWT and Nunavut -- across Canada and around the world. This new role will take Meghan back to television, and Yellowknife, a decade after she first arrived.

Patient and compassionate, Meghan is always willing to lend an ear. Eager to learn and share that knowledge with others, it's her goal to keep telling Northern stories. Stories powered by her love for the North and shared over the years regardless of where she was in the country.

Working both in radio and television, doing a wide range of jobs including producing and reporting, Meghan started at CBC Vancouver as a casual employee in the fall of 2011. Not long after, in December of 2011, she had the opportunity to work in Yellowknife. From there she went to Iqaluit, where she reported and helped to produce the bilingual morning show, Qulliq.  

After leaving CBC for Winnipeg to work as a television reporter for CTV, she ended up in Toronto and worked for CBC News Network as a breaking news host and producer. In 2019, Meghan moved back to Whitehorse to become the pan-territorial newsreader, where she read news casts for all three territories.
