Marc Fennell

Marc Fennell is an award-winning international journalist, documentary maker, and the host of the CBC podcast STUFF THE BRITISH STOLE. The series shot to the #1 on Apple Podcasts Australia. It also garnered widespread international acclaim in The Guardian, New Statesman, The Times, BBC Radio, and NPR. It was picked up and rebroadcast by 99% Invisible in the USA. 

Hes worked across the globe reporting on everything from the Hong Kong protests to a $10 million heist of Californian nuts (yes, nuts). Fennell has interviewed some of the worlds biggest names including Al Gore, Tom Cruise, Julian Assange and Jennifer Lawrence. Marcs documentaries have generated over 30 million online views. The Times (UK) dubbed him a cheerful Aussie version of Louis Theroux. A charge Marc finds *just* ludicrous enough to put into his bio. 

Marc is a 5-time New York Festival Award winner. Hes been twice nominated for Europes prestigious Rose dOr and honoured by the Webby Awards. Fennell has won Americas coveted James Beard Award, an Asian Creative Academy National Award, and the pinnacle of Australian journalism: a Walkley Award.

Marc has worked with the BBC, Audible, Showtime, Monocle, ABC Australia, SBS Australia, Red Bull, and The Sydney Opera House. 

Marc also created hit podcasts for Audible. It Burns followed the scandal-plagued race to breed the worlds hottest chilli. The Audible exclusive series bolted to the top of the US charts in 2019. It was named one of the best podcasts of the year by The Times (UK), Gizmodo & Esquire. In 2020, Marc released Nut Jobs about Californias $10 million nut theft. It won Marc his second Rose dOr nomination and two New York Festival Gold Medals. 

On television, Marc is currently the host of the Australian edition of the iconic quiz show Mastermind (SBS), the groundbreaking documentary series The School That Tried to End Racism (ABC) as well as the national current affairs programs The Feed and Dateline (Both SBS). 

Marc also happens to be Singaporean/Irish/Indian/Australian - hes basically a colonial cocktail, liberally free-poured direct from different corners of the British Empire. In 2019, Marc was named one of the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians. 

Fennell has also written 2 books, has 2 kids and he usually lives in Sydney, Australia.
