Kelda Yuen

Kelda Yuen is a host at CBC News Toronto, CBCs new FAST channel in Toronto that offers free, ad-supported streaming TV and a diverse range of content, including news, information, entertainment and community-focused programming, available 24/7 on CBC Gem, the CBC News App and connected TV platforms: The Roku Channel & LG Channels and Samsung TV Plus. Kelda joined CBC in 2018 as a reporter, winning an Edward R. Murrow Award for her feature story Come Sail Away in 2020. She has also spent time in the host chair for local shows including CBC Toronto News at 11 p.m.

Kelda came to CBC from CTV London where she anchored and produced the weekend 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts, and anchored the late night show on weekdays. She was also a videographer, receiving a Murrow award in 2017 for her news series Surviving Genocide.

Her journalism career began in Beijing. She was a reporter and anchor at BON, Chinas first independent English-language television news station, and a news presenter at China Radio International.

Kelda's family moved to Toronto from Hong Kong when she was two years old. She grew up in Scarborough and then Markham, and graduated from McMaster University with a Hon. B.A. in English.. She loves exploring the city, and is passionate about telling stories from diverse communities across the GTA.
