Like Father, Like Sons
Bill Halliday was only 17 years old when he set up a little butcher shop in downtown St. John's. Halliday's Meats.

That was 100 years ago. Back in 1914. And this year, Halliday's celebrates surviving a century...with the third generation of Halliday butchers behind the counter.

Some things have changed, but others haven't. The work ethic Bill insisted on is still there...the Hallidays can still call almost all their customers by name...they're still making their Butcher's puddings and sausages with the same 100-year-old recipe...and they still wrap their meats in brown paper and string.

Halliday's is still here, despite those old ways of doing business. Or perhaps, because of them.
