Comiccon stars gush about being in Montreal for the weekend

This weekends star-studded Comiccon lineup has been generating a huge amount of buzz among sci-fi and fantasy fans, and for many invitees the visit to Montreal is serving as a bonus to the fanfare.

Headliners are excited to take part in the event, but also psyched to be in this city

This weekend's star-studded Comiccon lineup has been generating a huge amount of buzz among sci-fi and fantasy fans and for many of its guests, the visit to Montreal is serving as a bonus to the fanfare.

Montreal's own Jay Baruchel is pretty familiar with the city but despite moving to Toronto, hasn't forgotten the borough he grew up in.

"I miss NDG more than I miss Montreal," Baruchel said.

"Pasta Casareccia on Sherbrooke Street and Draper in NDG is the single best Italian restaurant in the world."

Baruchel is a featured guest this weekend and will be appearing at Comicconon Sunday.

"The Vieux Quartier is so fantastic. I got off the plane here and I just started walking and enjoying. The food is wonderful, the people are wonderful, the language is wonderful."

Despite a rainy June, Martinet was optimistic the skies would clear for this weekend.

"Montreal the weather's always perfect, right?"

'It's lovely to be in Montreal'

Jeremy Bulloch is an English actor known for the role of the bounty hunter Boba Fett in the original Star Wars trilogy.

"The trip was actually exciting, that we were going to Montreal," Bulloch said. "I hadn't been here in a while."

Bulloch is making his first appearance in Montreal in a few years and is looking forward to Montreal's food scene.

Connell purposely arrived a day early so she could be a tourist in the city.

"It's absolutely lovely. I'm staying at a hotel right in the old town, right around the corner from the cathedral," she said.

Like many tourists, Connell is taking in the summer festivals. She was at the Jazz Festival Thursday and plans on going again.

"It's lovely to be in Montreal. It's a city I've always wanted to visit."
