The winner will receive $6,000 from theCanada Council for the Arts, attend a two-weekwriting residency at theBanff Centre for Arts and Creativityand have their story published onCBC Books.

Four finalists will win $1,000 from theCanada Council for the Artsand have their poem or poetry collection published onCBC Books.

The CBC Literary Prizes have been supporting and celebrating Canadian writers since 1979. Past winners include Michael Ondaatje, Michael Winter and Frances Itani.
