Saskatchewan votes 2016: Polls close in Regina

The polls closed for Regina's municipal election at 8 p.m. CST.

The polls have officially closed and the final ballots are being counted for the municipal election results in Regina.

The election determines the city's mayor, municipal council and school board trustees.

There are five candidates for mayor.

Incumbent Michael Fougere is running, as well as Tony Fiacco, the brother of former mayor Pat Fiacco.

Also in the raceis former mayoral candidate Jim Elliot, former Sask. Green Party MLA candidate Evangeline Godron and local businessman Wayne Ast.
