It's probably not the sort of door-crasher the managers of Plum at Granville Street and W 12th Avenuehad in mind, when staff hung a large salesign in the front window.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. and sent the limousine driver to hospital with minor injuries. The paramedics were also taken to hospital to get checked out.

The ambulance was responding to a call, according to theB.C. Ambulance Service, but it's unclear whether it was travelling routine or emergency, with flashing lights and a siren activated. No patient was on board at the time.

The limousinewasn't carrying any passengers as it travellednorthbound on Granville Street.

A witness told police the westbound ambulance had the right-of-way at the time.

Vancouver firefighters assessed the damage to the building, as there were concerns about its structural stability, but the destruction was limited to the facade, accordingBattalion Chief John Dennis.
