They're still working out the rigormortis from this brand new zombie musical, but Barely Living brings out the laughs and proves you don't need a hero to make a good zombie show.

For a story that relies on guts and brains, it serves up some good clean fun. I took my eight-year-old daughter and she had a blast, getting only the jokes she should and leaving the handful of raunchy ones for those over the height requirement.

Watch while threefriends try to make sense out of the zombie apocalypse from their apartment cellar. Shelby, Erik and Suzy play three perfectly intact human beings because- and here's where you come in - the zombies are the audience.

Dressing as one gets you a $2 discount at the door, but just because you didn't come as a zombie doesn't mean you won't leave as one, as a make-up artist is on standby to transform one lucky audience member into theundead.

There were some off-key moments in the solos, and while the choreography had the performers stepping to the beat, the overall rhythm of the show is still a bit off. That makes a script packed with one-liners and burns at times feel laboured, but give this cast a few more days to run lines and you'll be in for a deadly good show.
