Theelection announcementtoday had Albertansfrom across the province weighing in online.

Some people lamented the lack of change in Alberta's politics, which has seen the PC party in power since 1971, and the cost of an election that may not bring much change.

Others held a lighter view by pokingfun atthe election date which will beon Cinco de Mayo or the loud blast of the unedited version ofNickelback's Burn It To The Groundthat was playing prior to Prentice's election announcement Tuesday morning.

"I got a fist full of fifties, tequila just hit me.Oh, we got no class, no taste, no shirt, shit faced," blared the tune during the event in Edmonton.
