- The United States has made clear behind closed doors that if China provides lethal aid to help Russia in its invasion of Ukraine, it would have serious consequences, says US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
- A senior Russian diplomat to the United Nations accuses Western countries, without providing evidence, of “cowboy” methods and “arm twisting” after 141 countries backed a UN General Assembly resolution demanding Moscow withdraw its troops from Ukraine.
- Ukraine’s armed forces will be ready when spring arrives to launch a counteroffensive against the Russian forces, said Ukrainian deputy military intelligence chief Vadym Skibitsky.
- Russian mercenary leader Yevgeny Prigozhin has claimed forces of his Wagner Group have captured the village of Yahidne, just north of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine – a claim Ukraine’s military has dismissed, saying Russian offensives in the area have been unsuccessful.
